A comparison site is only worth as much as the rule it uses to decide what gets printed. This page is that rule, written out, including the cases where it produces a blank instead of an answer.
The rule
A figure with no published source does not get printed. Every price on this site resolves to an entry in a source ledger: the vendor, the exact page, the date it was read, and the figures taken from it. A number that cannot be traced to such an entry fails the build. This is not a policy anyone has to remember to follow — it is a check that refuses to produce the site.
Where prices come from
- The vendor’s own published page, and nowhere else. Not a comparison site, not a directory, not a review aggregator, not a press release, not a sales email.
- Read at source and dated. Every figure carries the date it was read, because a software price without a date is a rumour.
- Quote-gated is a fact, not a gap. Where a vendor publishes no price, that is recorded as a confirmed finding after reading the page and finding a request form where a number would be. It is never converted into an estimate.
- Third-party figures are quoted only in order to refuse them. Where numbers circulate for a vendor that publishes none, this site may name them and mark them unverified in the same sentence, so a reader sees both the claim and its status. Those figures are never computed with.
- What a page does not publish is itself reportable. If a pricing page omits its included seat count or its per-user rate, that omission is stated rather than filled in.
When two readings disagree
An automated read of a pricing page can scramble a grid, and this site has caught it happening in both directions: once when a report claimed a vendor had repriced and the vendor had not, and once when two reads of the same page minutes apart returned different figures for the same tier. The rule that came out of both is the same. Where readings disagree, nothing changes. The existing figure stands, the disagreement is recorded with both values, and the cell is marked for a direct human read. A correction made on evidence that contradicts itself is not a correction.
What this site does not do
It has not operated, deployed, migrated or trialled any of the software it compares. No test bench, no case study, no customer, no interview. Where a page reasons about how a workflow behaves in a shop, it is reasoning from published vendor documentation and from the structure of the work — not reporting an experience. Any sentence on this site that reads like first-hand operating experience is a defect and should be reported as one.
It does not rank vendors by preference, does not run a “best of” list ordered by anything other than a stated criterion, and does not recommend a product. It can tell you what each vendor publishes, what is missing from those published prices, and which questions to ask on a demo call.
AI assistance, stated plainly
Pages here are drafted with AI assistance and then checked against the cited vendor pages. That is disclosed because a reader is entitled to know how the thing in front of them was produced. It changes nothing about the sourcing rule: automation gets exactly the same treatment as a person, and an unsourced figure fails the build whoever typed it.
Independence
No vendor pays for placement, ordering, inclusion, exclusion or wording on this site. No vendor has been offered any of those. No comparison here has been shown to a vendor before publication for approval. A vendor may correct its own published pricing; a vendor may not change how a comparison reads, and asking will not work.
Updating
Vendor pricing changes without notice. Sources are re-read on a cadence and whenever a reader reports a discrepancy, and the read date moves when they are. A promotional price is treated as a dated fact with an expiry, not as a standing rate. When a promotion’s stated deadline passes the figure is re-read at source and the pages that print it are rebuilt — the corrections page shows what that looks like in practice, using a case this site has actually worked through.
